Dorae is an all-caps typeface inspired by Vietnamese cultural elements and named after the word 'đỏ,' meaning red. The challenge was to design a functional typeface that captures the retro spirit of Vietnamese vintage signage while fitting into modern design contexts. The concept centers on a 'retro but modern voice from Vietnam,' blending bold geometric structure with warmth and cultural heritage. Dorae reinterprets the past through a fresh, contemporary lens.
Dorae follows the motto of design with purpose and personality. It brings a retro-modern feel to a typeface that reveals its charm and adds a jolie touch to creative projects. Its geometric foundations are softened by subtle curves, resulting in letterforms that feel strong yet approachable. The system is cohesive and versatile, designed for display purposes where personality and impact matter most.
