This project involved designing a responsive and visually engaging microsite for a fictional restaurant. The assignment required a working HTML and CSS prototype that included a homepage and two interior pages built from provided content. The site needed to promote the restaurant, excite and inform visitors.
Flippie, is a fun, delightful and sweet spirited restaurant that serves Japanese crepes and fluffy pancakes. The concept behind Flippie was that they are flipped pancakes and more importantly, they have the power to flip sadness into happiness. This shaped how the website should feel: happy, fun, and cheerful.
The design focused on making a website that felt friendly and fun while being easy to use. And, Sugar Matcha theme brought everything together. Soft, sweet colors inspired by sugar and matcha created the website's mood, while round, friendly fonts made it feel warm and welcoming. The layout is responsive and worked well on all devices so everyone could use it easily. Details like subtle hover effects and smooth transitions reminded people of flipping and made the website feel lively, showing Flippie's playful spirit and promise to turn sadness into happiness.
